Hunter Duggin Bio

I am a 2nd year Ph.D. student in physics at the University of North Carolina. My research interests lie in the area of theoretical nuclear physics at low energies. I am interested in the structure of particles made up of quarks and gluons known as Hadrons. Our group at UNC works on understanding nuclear physics from the underlying theory, the Standard Model of particle physics, using supercomputers. Service

Aside from research, I am passionate about physics education and scientific communication. I have taken extracuricular classes and attended seminars to help further my teaching skills. Historically, I have taught the studio (lab) sections of UNC's PHYS 119 class. I also teach the recitation for the graduate level statistical mechanics class PHYS 741. In addition to my teaching at the university level, I am on the outreach and public engagement comittee for the department of physics.
